Skylarks Nature Reserve

Skylarks Nature Reserve

Thanks to the support of our members, partners and the general public, Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust has been able to extend its much loved Skylarks Nature Reserve and to carry out an extensive programme of work to make the site better for both wildlife and people. Thanks to the funding raised through our Skylarks Appeal, in addtion to carrying out habitat and access improvements we will also be working with Nottinghamshire County Council's community archaeology team to deliver a programme of events and actvities for schools, young people and local families.

To find out more about the site and the work our supporters have helped fund, why not come along to one of our events? For further details click on the News & Events tab below.

Watch a video showcasing the amazing new land we have acquired thanks to our supporters.

Whilst we have now purchased the land we still need the support of Members and donors to enable us to care for sites such as Skylarks Nature Reserve. You can help us do more for local wildlife by joining or donating today using one of the buttons on the right.

200 reasons to visit Skylarks

One of the reasons we were determined to extend and improve Skylarks Nature Reserve is that nearly 200 species of bird have been recorded here, including some rare migrants! But when it was put up for public auction last year, we were really concerned that the site could be damaged or destroyed.

The land (known locally as Blott's Pit) has long been known as a haven for wildlife - with lakes and wetland grassland home to an array of wetland birds; but with your help we can now make it even better for wildlife and make it easier for people to see and enjoy wildlife here.

Please help by donating towards our conservation work or becoming a Member today
