Spoon Whittling Workshop

Tuesday 4th October

Event Type: Skylarks | Rural Crafts & Skills | Rushcliffe

Learn about the history of the humble spoon and have a go at crafting your own at our Skylarks Nature Reserve. Workshop is for adults aged 18+ and requires you to have a good degree of manual dexterity, as you will be using very sharp tools.  10am – 2pm, free of charge. Booking required.

Early Medieval Trinkets

Thursday 6th October

Event Type: Skylarks | Rural Crafts & Skills | Rushcliffe

Have a go at a variety of Anglo-Saxon and Viking crafts, and take away trinkets of your own creation at our Skylarks Nature Reserve. Activities include runesticks, gamepiece carving, wire weaving and more. This workshop is aimed at adults. 10am – 2pm, free of charge. Booking required.

Green Man Workshop

Friday 7th October

Learn about ‘green man’ imagery in history, archaeology and folklore at Skylarks Nature Reserve. Have a go at hand carving your own images using traditional techniques and local wood. Workshop is for adults aged 18+ and requires you to have a good degree of manual dexterity, as you will be using very sharp tools. 10am – 2pm, free of charge. Booking required.
