Butterfly Monitoring Survey Volunteers

Last year we set up a series of Butterfly monitoring transects on some of our nature reserves to enable us to see how our work is affecting the populations of these colourful invertebrates.

We're now looking for volunteers to help us extend this work to cover more of our reserves across the county.

The surveys will be running at as many sites as possible over the summer of 2013, and ideally need to be completed once a week for 26 weeks between April and September (providing weather conditions allow this).

We are looking for volunteers to hopefully commit to helping out for approximately two hours each week between these dates to complete the survey. This role would suit those who are able to identify butterflies confidently in natural situations and are reasonably able-bodied.

Training will be offered to familiarise volunteers with the survey methods.

If you are interested in helping out with these surveys, please contact Michael Walker at (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) who will provide more information on training and survey locations.
