Speedo Staff Dive in to Wear their Wellies for Wildlife!
Thursday 16th October
Staff at Speedo in Nottingham are swapping swimming trunks for Wellington boots to support Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust.
Staff from the Speedo International factory in Ascot Road will wear their wellies for wildlife on October 17.
The event is part of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust’s campaign, Wear Your Wellies For Wildlife, which aims to raise awareness and money for their work across the county to protect wildlife for the future!
Speedo have set up a welly-wanging court and will also be holding a raffle for their staff with prizes of Wellington boots donated by their parent company Pentland.
Erin McDaid of the Wildlife Trust said “We are delighted that a company with such a strong Nottingham connection has chosen to support our county wide Wildlife Protection Work.”
The Speedo event also marks the start of this year’s Wild Week, which aims to promote wildlife events across the UK.
All the money raised by Speedo will go towards the Wildlife Trusts ‘Besthorpe’s Big Make over’ which will see the county’s largest reedbed restored. Staff from Speedo will be helping on the first phase of the project by helping to clear invasive scrub from the reedbed in order to prevent this delicate habitat from drying out.
The Wildlife Trust is encouraging schools, businesses and organisations across the county to take part in Wear Your Wellies for Wildlife. For further information email (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and ask for a Wear Your Wellies for Wildlife pack.
