Trent Vale Project Gets Lottery Award Funding
Monday 31st October
We are pleased to announce we have been granted a £5900 cash award from the Big Lottery Fund’s ‘Awards for All’, to help further the work of the Trent Vale Landscape Partnership.
The funding will be put towards a “Trent Vale Beyond 2012” scheme, which aims to bring together the community to take ownership of a sustainability strategy for developing Trent Vale beyond 2012 through a series of workshops that will commence over the next year.
The Trent Vale Partnership is a project designed to conserve the environmentally and culturally significant area between Newark and Gainsborough alongside the River Trent. The area is home to 68000 people, has historically had ferry crossings and has been used as a highway since Roman times. It is, importantly, also a rich and diverse habitat for wildlife.
The Partnership runs a number of projects including environmental and heritage education work, creating a Trent Vale grazing herd and conserving hundreds of hectares of vital habitat to help Nottinghamshire’s nature.
The new grant will help see the continuation of this important work into the future and will hugely benefit the people and landscape in this beautiful part of our county.
