Let's be totally honest, not all ecological consultancies are the same. We want to do the very best for nature and ALL of our profits are gift-aided to the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust to support conservation directly on the ground.

We also want to do the best for you and offer flexible working to support balancing your work and home life.

You are an experienced Senior Ecologist who holds one or more protected species survey licences, have acted as Named Ecologist on Natural England mitigation licences, and most importantly can support members of our hardworking team with their learning path.

You are a calming influence, have detailed knowledge of current legislation and will have many years of work experience under your belt to draw upon. You've been there and done it and want to nurture others who share your passions. You lead but are still keen to develop your own skills and knowledge.

We have very recently modernised our processes and refurbished our office in a listed building at the heart of the creative quarter in Nottingham to support and encourage flexible home and/or office working to suit. We offer generous holidays and pension contribution and are a family-friendly organisation. This role doesn't need to be a full-time job, if that suits you better.

As a commercial subsidiary of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, we have the conservation and restoration of nature at our heart. When delivering our clients’ projects and objectives, we look for biodiversity net-gain wherever possible and through our ecology, land management and arboricultural services we deliver innovative solutions to benefit habitats and species.

A full driving licence is required as site visits will be required. A fleet of pool cars is provided for surveys, therefore access to your own vehicle is not essential.

Benefits of working for us

  • 28 days annual leave plus public holidays
  • Pension scheme with 8% contribution from EMEC
  • Health payment plan
  • Dependents leave
  • External and internal training programme designed to enhance your knowledge and progress your career
  • Payment of professional membership fees
  • Flexible working options and a healthy work-life balance encouraged
  • A multi-disciplinary business with opportunities to work on a wide range of projects
  • A close-knit, friendly and supportive team, with a relaxed office atmosphere.
  • The majority of our projects are within an hour of our office; over-night stays are infrequent.
