Attenborough Forest School

Thursday 15th February

A Forest School session especially for Home Schoolers aged between 5 and 11. Join us for a seasonal take on den building, fire lighting and cooking, bushcraft, wildlife discovery and much more. Simon Barnes – A View from a Mountain

Simon Barnes is an author and journalist. He has written a wildlife opinion column in The Times and his outspoken, and sometimes controversial, views champion wildlife conservation in Britain and beyond. During his lecture he’ll talk about his views on conservation in the UK and discuss how species protection is of paramount importance and requires people to speak out in order to successfully conserve wildlife. Martin Hughes-Games - Courting Controversy: The Art and Artifice of Wildlife Film Making

Martin is best known as one of the presenters on the BBC’s Winterwatch, Springwatch and Autumnwatch series. Join him at the Pearson Centre, Beeston, Nottingham for an evening talk, Q&A and book signing. His talk will take a look at how wildlife film makers produce amazing footage and discuss the techniques used to get the shots they want. 7.30-10.00pm, doors open 6.30pm. £18.95, refreshments available. Giant Collage

Saturday 17th February

Families and children are invited to come along each day and cut out and paste pictures on a giant collage at our Idle Valley Reserve. Open all day. Continues daily up to Friday 23 February.

Nature Trails

Saturday 17th February

Pick up a form from Reception at our Idle Valley reserve, follow the trail through the woods and collect the clues. Hand in your completed form for a small prize. For children age 7+ and families. Suggested donation of £1 per child welcomed. Open every day. Continues daily up to Friday 23 February.
