Attenborough Health Walk

Get the week off to a healthy start by joining us for a brisk walk around the Reserve. Suitable for beginners. No need to book. Please come dressed for the weather and wear stout shoes or boots. No dogs please. Start at 10am from the Nature Centre.

Willow Weaving Course

Event Type: Idle Valley | Rural Crafts & Skills
Renowned willow artist and sculptor Carole Beavis is running a three day course at the Idle Valley Rural Learning Centre for the Ecominds group. We will be creating a willow arbour/seating area for our garden, and Carole will be helping us make it beautiful and sculptural as well as practical. People attending the course will learn skills that they can use in their own garden or at work (ideal for teachers and people working with children). You will be able to take home as much willow as you can carry (within reason!). 10.00am – 3.30pm. £60 per day, booking essential. Remaining date: 6th March. Lunch is not included, but refreshments will be available.

Tiny Tots – Idle Valley

Event Type: Idle Valley | Children's Activity
Parent and toddler sessions exploring the outdoors at Idle Valley Nature Reserve. Suitable for 2 to 4 year olds. 10am – 11.30am. Suggested donation £4 per child. Please book in advance as numbers are limited. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Horse-logging
Wednesday 29th February
Event Type: Gamston Wood | Rural Crafts & Skills
Join Rob Atkinson, Northern Reserves Officer for Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, for a 2 day course in Gamston Wood and learn the wildlife-friendly technique of horse-logging. 10am – 4pm. Early booking essential as places limited. £75 per person; free to current volunteers with a £10 returnable deposit. Continues on 1st March.

Harvest Mice
Thursday 1st March
Event Type: Wildlife Talk
Harvest mice are the smallest British rodents. Join the Newark Local Group to discover more about these tiny creatures, at this talk by Neil Pinder. 7.30pm. Meet in Pelham Street Pre-school Nursery, Pelham Street, Newark. £2 each including refreshments.
