Wildlife Gardening

Thursday 16th September

Join the Gedling Local Group to hear local enthusiast Nigel Slater give an illustrated talk, and pick up hints and tips to help transform your garden into a wildlife haven. 7.30pm at St Helen’s Old Church Hall, Main Street, Burton Joyce. Admission £1.

Painting the Wildflowers of Attenborough.

Saturday 18th September

Bring along your watercolours for a master class in painting native flora found in this very special habitat. Tuition in watercolour techniques will be given by Kate Houghton through demonstration and simple exercises designed to build up the speed and accuracy needed for field work. Suitable for adults at all levels - beginners welcome. £10 per person. 10.30am - 1.00pm.

Corn Dolly Workshop

Sunday 19th September

Find out the history of these intricate woven corn dolls and try your hand at making a corn dolly to take home. 1pm – 3.30pm. £2 per person. This event is suitable for those 8 years old and above only. Meet at the Idle Valley Rural Training Centre. Booking essential.
