Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust is excited to announce that Capital One will continue its corporate support for the charity for the next 12 months. The Trust would also like to thank the company for their recent kind support in hosting its first ever hybrid members’ meeting last month to mark its 60th Anniversary AGM. The meeting was used to launch a series of ‘60th Anniversary Questions – with the Trust seeking the views of supports and the general public on key issues such as why nature is important and their aspirations for nature’s recovery. At the meeting a range of video messages from long-term volunteers and young members of the charity’s Keeping it Wild group were aired and since the meeting the Trust has had dozens of uplifting responses – and is now calling on the public to share their views.

The Trust and Capital One have been working together for over 20 years, beginning in 2003 when Capital One sponsored a Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust initiative designed in getting young people in Clifton closer to the wildlife at Fairham Brook Nature Reserve. Over the intervening years, Capital One has continued to work with the Trust through their corporate support and fund-raising activities such as celebrating Earth Day and engaging and educating their staff and families about the importance of nature in a sustainable society and the benefits of nature for their physical and mental well-being.

The corporate support that Capital One and other partners provide to the Trust enables us to deliver a variety of work benefiting local communities, biodiversity, and our nature reserves.

Speaking about the company’s continued support Business Partnerships and Trusts Manager Emily Patrick said: “The corporate support that Capital One and other partners provide to the Trust enables us to deliver a variety of work benefiting local communities, biodiversity, and our nature reserves. This support makes a real difference towards our vision ‘That Nottinghamshire’s people and wildlife are thriving together’.

In 2022 Capital One funded a new Boardwalk Dipping Platform at Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust’s award-winning and much-loved Attenborough Nature Reserve.  This has been a great addition to the reserve and a fun way to safely bring people of all ages and abilities closer to the water and the amazing wildlife that flourishes in and around it.

We are proud to support Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust and value all the work they do to enable a Wilder Nottinghamshire for communities to be part of and enjoy.

Dave Richards, Head of Corporate Responsibility at Capital One said, “We are proud to support Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust and value all the work they do to enable a Wilder Nottinghamshire for communities to be part of and enjoy. It’s great our employees have the opportunity to take part and support their activities on reserves through Wild Work Days – it’s a fantastic way for our employees to build closer connections with each other, wildlife and nature.”

Emily added: “We really value our partnership with Capital One, having long lasting partnerships like these enable a Wilder Nottinghamshire to be a reality. It was really special to host our first ever hybrid 60th Anniversary at Capital One’s office as it meant members from across the county could join in online or in person and it was great to see many new Trustees voted in. We couldn’t have achieved this without the support of Capital One and their great IT team. We look forward to another year working with Capital One and engaging Nottinghamshire communities with nature, wildlife and highlighting ways they can take action for nature.”
