Idle Valley Summer Fayre
Tuesday 7th June
Our Idle Valley Nature Reserve on North Road, Retford, is holding its Annual Summer Fayre on Saturday 18th June with a slight twist.
This year, there is a strong focus on inspirational and creative art works that everyone can get involved with, as well as with finding out more about how climate change is affecting our communities and local wildlife. The event promises lots of family fun with an artistic and informative angle.
The Summer Fayre runs from 10am until 4pm, and will be a fascinating day out with demonstrations from a local spinner, bee-keeper and bird-ringer. There will also be workshops with local artist Ross Spencer who will create sculptures from litter found in Retford!
Lound Bird Club will be on hand to give tips about bird watching in our newly equipped viewing area; the Retford Local Group will be holding a plant sale; there will be a showcase of shadow puppet theatre work, plus nature trails, walks and refreshments.
Free car parking and Reception Facilities open to the public 7 days a week and the Café is open at weekends 11:30 to 2:30pm. For more details about these and other educational and volunteering opportunities, contact the Idle Valley Team on 01777 713945 or
visit the reserve's webpage.
