Mini Meadow – seed planting reminder!
Tuesday 8th November
The days are getting shorter, the nights are drawing in and summer seems a long way away, however, to be sure of a great Mini Meadow display next summer then now is the time to get out in the garden and plant your mini meadow seeds.
Autumn is a great time of year to plant the seeds, giving the seeds time to over winter in the ground and then germinate and begin growing once the ground warms in the spring. Planting them now is great as it replicates the plants natural cycle.
So, get yourself a pack of seeds, decide on a spot in the garden or a spare container and find a bit of spare time on a clear dry day to get planting. We’ve provided a simple factsheet explaining how to prepare your garden and plant the seeds. Have a look through our download section on our Mini Meadows page and click on the sheet called ‘Creating your Mini Meadow’.
If you haven’t got a free pack of Mini Meadows seeds then you can drop in and collect some from, Idle Valley Nature Reserve, Attenborough Nature Centre, or our head office on Brook Street in Nottingham city centre.
