More wild walks in Notts

Join in our new Health Walks programme - a great way to start walking and stay motivated, whilst exploring some of our county’s beautiful green spaces.

We’ve teamed up with the East Midlands Walking for Health scheme, and are now offering a programme of free Health Walks around the county.

Walking is a perfect way to stay healthy!

Almost anyone can do it, anywhere and anytime - it’s free and you don’t need any special equipment.

Walks in your area
- Health Walks at Idle Valley Nature Reserve, near Retford
- Health Walks at Portland Park, Kirkby-in-Ashfield
- Health Walks around Broxtowe County Park (as part of our new Wildlife in the City project)
- Summer Twilight Health Walks
- Buggy Walks for new mums at Attenborough Nature Reserve.

View all the Health Walks in our Events Programme this Spring/Summer.

More leaders trained
12 of our volunteers and 2 Wildlife Trust staff members have now joined a team of over 20 Health Walk Leaders who are making it possible to offer the range of health walks.

Speaking about the Health Walks programme, Karen Bennett, our Education & Community Manager said: “We’re delighted to be working with the Walking for Health team to increase the opportunities for healthy walking across Nottinghamshire. With the benefits of walking - particularly walking in green space or near water – so well documented, it’s great that we can offer new walks on some of the county’s most interesting nature sites. Our growing team of volunteer walk leaders is looking forward to welcoming new walkers keen on getting fitter and discovering more of the county’s great green space in 2011.”
