Statement with regards Mr Tony Critchley

On Thursday 26th May Mr Tony Critchley resigned all voluntary roles with Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust. Subsequent to his resignation we learnt that he has been convicted of a historic sexual offence against a minor dating back to the early 1970’s. Today Mr Critchley was sentenced to two years in prison.  Mr Critchley had been Chairman of The Attenborough Nature Reserve Management Committee and a board Member for Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust Trading Limited.  Mr Critchley’s involvement with Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust was focussed on ensuring high quality habitat management at Attenborough Nature Reserve and balancing the needs of the Charity’s commercial operations and the protection of the wildlife on the reserve. Mr Critchley had no involvement in any of the Trust’s education delivery or work with young people at Attenborough.
