What on earth are Wetlands?

What on earth are Wetlands? ... Find out with a new free download, thanks to our Wildlife in the Wetlands project sponsored by Speedo.

Wetlands are all around us. But for anyone scratching their heads as to what exactly these natural wonders are, our free downloadable leaflet is available now!

The leaflet is a great way to find out about this wonderful habitat and its benefits to the environment, packed with fascinating facts!

For example, did you know that a walk around one of Nottingham’s many wetlands is actually officially proven to brighten your mood and improve self esteem – It’s true! –or that wetlands are essential in purifying our water supply?

Wildlife in the Wetlands is all about showcasing these natural wonders across Nottinghamshire and also raising awareness of the benefits of fresh clean water for wildlife.

Unfortunately these ‘wet wonders’ are under threat. Our leaflet will also tell you about how problems such as pollution or excessive use of water are threatening our wetlands and how you can help keep them safe by taking action or helping with conservation work.

For all this interesting information and a whole lot more, click to visit our Wildlife in the Wetlands page, then click on Downloads and select the What on Earth are Wetlands file.
