Wildlife on your doorstep

Wildlife on your doorstep

The majority of people live less than five miles from their nearest Wildlife Trust nature reserve, and tens of thousands of you can find one less than one mile from your home!

We want to enable all communities to access green spaces in their areas. Our 70 nature reserves allow visitors and families to see the best of the county’s wildlife or simply enjoy and experience the sights and sounds of the natural world. They are also great to use as a place for outdoor learning or improving health and relaxation. To help you make the most of your visit, many of our reserves have interpretation and information boards, explaining the history of our sites or giving tips on wildlife to look out for.

We are passionate about caring for these sites, welcome all visitors, and encourage you to come and see what’s on offer – so why not get out and enjoy the wildlife on your doorstep? For further details of our nature reserves across the county click here.
