These events will provide members and supporters an opportunity to meet key staff and to learn about recent developments and future plans at these special and much loved sites.

So, whether you’re a first time visitor wanting to know more about what these wildlife havens have to offer, or a regular visitor keen to learn more about future plans - these events will provide members and supporters with a unique chance to find out more. You can choose to spend the whole day exploring or just pop in to meet the team. Senior managers will be on hand throughout the day to talk to supporters and you can also book on to guided tours which will highlight our plans. There will also be an opportunity to view materials outlining our visions for these much loved sites as we work to inspire more people to act for nature.

Attenborough Nature Reserve

Learn more about the work underway to make the site richer in wildlife and more accessible to visitors. Tours will begin with a short presentation by Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust Chief Executive Paul Wilkinson.

Guided tours of the Attenborough Nature Reserve will take place at 10am, 11:15am, 12:30pm, 2pm and 3:30pm.

The tour will take approximately 1 hour. Places on tours are offered on a first come first served basis and numbers are limited.

Idle Valley Nature Reserve

Idle Valley Nature Reserve, North Road, Retford

Join us at the Idle Valley Nature Reserve near Retford to learn about our exciting plans to make the the Trust's largest site wilder yet more welcoming for visitors. You'll get an update on plans for the reintroduction of beavers and plans to enhance the bird and other wildlife watching opportunities across this spectacular wetland.

Beaver enclosure tours

Take a tour and see the progress we're making on our new beaver enclosure and talk about other key habitat improvements in the area. Tours will begin with a short presentation by Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust Chief Executive Paul Wilkinson.

Guided tours to view the new beaver enclosure will take place at 10am, 11:30am, 1pm and 2:45pm - leaving by minibus from the Centre Car Park.

The tour will take approximately 1 hour. Places on tours are offered on a first come first served basis and numbers are limited.

Bird Walks

Join Mark Speck, Senior Conservation Officer for North Nottinghamshire for a walk around Idle Valley's beautiful Belmoor Lake, while seeing and learning about some of the numerous bird species in the area. Bring your binoculars!

Walks around the lake will begin from the visitor centre at 9:30am and 11:00am, and last approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. 

Places are offered on a first come first served basis and numbers are limited.
