Wildflower Meadow NottsWT

Caring for Creation

Thank you for making your local school or church wilder!

Spring is an exciting time of year full of growth and new life and the perfect time to take the first steps towards creating your own wildflower meadow. Now that you've got your wildflower seeds, we recommend getting them in the soil (whether a pot, bare earth or lawn) by the end of April.

Over the past 50 years Britain has lost around 98% of its wildflower meadows, but with your help we can create new spaces for the wonderful creatures that rely on this threatened habitat. Many of the insects that wildflowers support are also very important for pollinating the crops that we depend on.

As we face up to both climate and ecological emergencies, creating small patches of habitat, such as meadows, can act as 'stepping stones' and 'corridors' between bigger areas as part of a Nature Recovery Network. In addition, areas of natural habitat such as meadows help to absorb carbon dioxide.

Wild about social media?

Share photos with us of you sowing your meadow and when your meadow is in flower. You'll help to encourage others to aid nature's recovery.

We can't wait to see them!
