Wild Tots Idle Valley

Get your little one out in the great outdoors. Messy play and sensory activities for under 5s all inspired by a wildlife-focused story book. 10.30-11.30am, £4.50 per child. Outdoor clothing is essential. Parents and guardians are required to stay with their children. Booking required.

Wild Woodlands

Join us for an exciting day of activities in our woods at Idle Valley. You will learn how to light fires safely, build your own shelters and learn bushcraft skills. You will also get a chance to explore the wildlife in a woodland setting. For children aged 8-14, 10.30am-2.00pm, £12. Outdoor clothing and a packed lunch are essential. Parents and guardians are not required to attend. Booking required.

Wild Play Idle Valley

Become an Idle Valley wildlife explorer and take part in one of our wildlife experiences. In this session we will be using sweep nets to find out about the invertebrates that live in grassland habitats. For children aged 5 +, £6 per child. 10.30am – 12.00 noon. Martin Hughes-Games: Courting Controversy

Martin is best known as one of the presenters on the BBC’s Winterwatch, Springwatch and Autumnwatch series. Join him at the Idle Valley Rural Learning Centre for an evening talk, Q&A and book signing. His talk will take a look at how wildlife film makers produce amazing footage and discuss the techniques used to get the shots they want. 7.30-10.00pm, doors open 6.30pm. £18.95 or £21.95, refreshments available. Stephen Moss: Birds Britannia

Stephen Moss is a BAFTA award-winning TV producer, naturalist and TV presenter. Best known for his work on Springwatch, Stephen also produced Big Cat Diary, Birds Britannia and Birding with Bill Oddie. Join Stephen at the Idle Valley Rural Learning Centre for an evening talk, Q&A and book signing.
