Pond Dipping for Adults at Skylarks

Saturday 1st July

Skylarks is an important wetland in the River Trent wildlife corridor and its ponds are home to some amazing wildlife. This session will give you the opportunity to sample the ponds with nets and identify and record the myriad freshwater invertebrates encountered. 1.30 – 3.30 pm, free of charge but booking essential.

Skylarks Green Rangers

Are you aged 13-18 years old, like being outdoors and keeping active? If so, then join our Green Rangers and help us look after our Skylarks Nature Reserve! Our varied programme includes tree coppicing, bird box making, pond dipping, bushcraft and lots more. 11 am – 1 pm. No charge, but booking essential.

Wild Tots Skylarks

Thursday 20th July

Join us as we explore Skylarks Nature Reserve with lots of wildlife-themed activities to enjoy. Suitable for 2 to 4 year olds. 10.30am – 12 noon. £6 per child. Mini Museum at Skylarks

Saturday 22nd July

Travel through time with the community archaeologist. Handle flint tools, Roman pottery, Saxon bling and more as you are taken on a whistle-stop tour of history through some of the artefacts our ancestors left behind. The Mini Museum is an inspiring mix of replica pieces and authentic artefacts designed to fire the imagination. 1 – 3 pm. Booking required.

Nature Discovery Day

Thursday 27th July

Come and join us down at Skylarks and have lots of fun pond dipping, sweep netting and tree beating, and have a closer look at the wildlife you will find. Free of charge, but booking essential. 10 am – 12 noon.
