Microscopy for Beginners
Saturday 26th September
Get to know that fungus, lichen, moss, beetle, spider or flower a little bit more closely. Join Tom Hartman from Nottingham University for a day of binocular and compound microscopy. You learn how microscopes are an amazing tool for investigating the natural world, and how they can be used to identify hundreds of species from across the animal and plant world. 10.00am – 4.00pm. £35 per person, including tea/coffee, lunch and ID chart. Booking necessary. Come dressed for the weather as you’ll collect your own specimens.

An Introduction to Fungi
Saturday 31st October
Join us for a weekend of fungi at Attenborough and Foxcovert Plantation. Join experts from Nottinghamshire Fungi Group on a foray around our Foxcovert reserve on Saturday and spend a morning learning how to identify different species of fungi and practise your new skills at Attenborough on Sunday.10.00am – 1.00pm each day. £20 per day or £35 for both days. Booking essential. Suitable for beginners. Own transport to Foxcovert is required. Sunday includes tea/coffee, lunch and an ID chart. Come dressed for the weather.
