An Introduction to the World of Wildlife Photography
Saturday 2nd June
Event Type: Attenborough | Training Course
This exciting activity gives you a rare chance to try your hand at photographing some of the abundant wildlife here at Attenborough Nature Reserve. The session will include a briefing from an expert instructor, a supervised session in one of our hides, and a chance to use some professional camera equipment, as well as some tips on getting the most from your camera. Afterwards you will be able to take your images home on a CD. Suitable for beginners. 8am – 10.30am. £35 per person. Please book in advance.

Photography Workshop

Learn how to photograph small mammals at this workshop to be held at the Idle Valley Nature Reserve. 1pm – 3pm. Suggested donation £3 per person.

Hoverflies

Find out more about the fascinating world of hoverflies with local enthusiast Brian Wetton. This day-long course will cover their anatomy, behaviour and life cycle, as well as practical sessions on Attenborough Nature Reserve, including catching and identifying them. 10am – 4pm. £15 per person. Wild Flowers
Sunday 24th June
Event Type: Idle Valley | Training Course
Improve your wild flower identification skills as we head out onto the Idle Valley Nature Reserve to see what we can find and identify with Reserve Officer James Simpson. Booking essential. 10am – 4pm. £10 suggested donation.

Grasses

This course at Attenborough Nature Reserve, led by Graham Bowden, will cover the identification features of different grasses and their biology. The session will also include fieldwork on the Reserve. Please book in advance as numbers are limited. 10am – 4pm. £25 per person
