Introduction to Wildlife Photography in Autumn

Join professional photographer, Iain McMillan, for a morning of wildlife photography around the reserve. Learn how to use your own equipment and use Iain’s extensive range of professional kit. 8.30am to 11am, £35 per person. Wildlife Painting for Beginners

Saturday 8th October

Brighten up an autumn day drawing from plants found on the nature reserve. Bring along your watercolours to have a go at mixing the subtle colours found at this time of year. The session will be held in the Nature Centre where you will be able to study your subject in comfort making paintings directly from nature. Tuition will be given by Kate Houghton who is committed to the role drawing can play in learning about the natural world. 10am to 1pm. £15.00 per person including refreshments. Autumn Bird Identification

Sunday 9th October

In October large numbers of migrant visitors arrive on our shores to spend winter here. This day course focuses on these migrants and will help to improve your identification of both migrant and resident autumn birds. 10am – 3pm. £35 per person including refreshments, lunch and ID chart. Introduction to Microscopy

Join Tom Hartman from the University of Nottingham for an introduction to wildlife microscopy. Whether you’re new to microscopy or want to improve your skills, Tom will guide you through how to use the different types of microscope to study a wide range of subjects, from plants to invertebrates to minerals. 10am to 4pm. £35 per person including refreshments and lunch.
