Keeled skimmer
The Keeled skimmer is a dragonfly of heaths and commons with shallow pools. It has a skittish and weak flight, and is on the wing in summer and early autumn.
Volunteer group gives Bunny Wood a pre-summer make over
A team from British Gypsum has joined forces with Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust to give popular county nature reserve, Bunny Woods a pre-summer makeover.
Wood warbler
Look for the wood warbler singing from the canopy of oak woodlands in the north and west of the UK. Green above, it has a distinctive, bright yellow throat and eyestripe.
With summer now well and truly upon us Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust is preparing for a unique free outdoor event next month.
On Wednesday 21st August the charity will be hosting a Wilder Woodland Gathering at its Skylarks Nature Reserve at Holme Pierrepont just two miles from the centre of Nottingham.
Black-tailed skimmer
The Black-tailed skimmer is a narrow-bodied dragonfly that can be seen flying low over the bare gravel and mud around flooded gravel pits and reservoirs. It is on the wing from May to August.
Shore clingfish / Cornish sucker
One of the most bizarre fish to find on the rocky shore, the clingfish appears an assortment of different animals stuck together!
