Champions of Sherwood . . . meet our Pub Quiz champions!

Friday 30th January

Champions of Sherwood . . . meet our Pub Quiz champions!

Last night we held our Champions of Sherwood Pub Quiz, at Castle Rock Brewery's Poppy & Pint in Lady Bay.  Despite the wintery snow showers we enjoyed a fantastic turn-out, with 80 enthusiastic contestants battling it out across 19 teams to become our Champions of Sherwood - Pub Quiz Champions!

Meet our winning team, from Experience Nottinghamshire, who scored an impressive 41 out of a possible 49 points, winning themselves a meal with wine, to enjoy at the Poppy & Pint.
We had a three-way tie for runner-up place, with each team scoring 40 points.  After a tie-breaker question the eventual winners were the 'Hungry Hamsters' who won a case of Castle Rock beers - the ever popular Harvest Pale & Elsie Mo.

Throughout the evening guests had the opportunity to sample the newly launched Sherwood Reserve stout, Castle Rock Brewery's latest Natural Selection wildlife beer.  Sherwood Reserve pays tribute to Nottinghamshire’s famous Sherwood Forest.  Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust believes that more needs to be done to restore and reconnect our famous Forest and has developed the Champions of Sherwood campaign to enable everyone to play their part in safeguarding what remains of the Forest, helping to restore its legendary landscape and preserve its natural beauty and wildlife.

Alongside the quiz we held an ever popular Raffle, with a selection of prizes including those donated by our Corporate Supporters at Capital One, L'Oreal and of course Castle Rock Brewery, who generously hosted the event and supplied the Team prizes.  The evening raised a total of £543 which will all go directly to our Sherwood Appeal.  A huge THANK YOU to all who supported our evening fundraiser.

All donations to the Sherwood Forest Restoration Fund will be spent directly on conservation and education programmes in the heart of Sherwood Forest.  If you would like to become a Champion of Sherwood please visit our dedicated website to learn more, including how to make a donation today.
