In addition to his passion for the countryside, Matt shares something else in common with the Trust, which launched its nature grazing programme 25 years ago this year with the purchase of a small flock of Hebridean sheep, Matt has been quoted as saying that he’s only been without a flock of sheep for six months of his life – a period he describes as ‘the worst period of my life really.’

Now a Trustee of Children in Need, Matt’s 12 Rickshaw Challenge rides have covered more than 5000 miles across the UK – helping to raise a staggering £43million. Away from the bright lights of hosting our favourite television programmes, he is often in the company of his family, family dogs, his beloved sheep and host of wildlife in the farm’s ancient woodland.
