For over 50 years, Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust has been protecting the county’s wildlife and wild places.
Our first nature reserve was the much loved Attenborough, opened in 1966 by Sir David Attenborough himself, whose family hailed from the village from which he and the reserve take their name.
We need your support
With your support we can continue protecting special places such as at Attenborough and Sherwood Forest and safeguard the future of rare and threatened species such as otters. As well as caring for almost 70 nature reserves, we provide inspirational learning opportunities for thousands of local children each year and support the work of hundreds of volunteers who care as passionately as we do about local wildlife.
Recent successes include the extension of our Treswell Wood Nature Reserve, near Retford, to support the reintroduction of dormice and an exciting project to provide young people with opportunities to learn more about Sherwood Forest’s historic heathlands and the mysterious nightjar.
Without the support of individuals the fight to create our first nature reserve would never have got off the ground and we need your support today to care for our nature reserves, campaign for wildlife and connect children and families with the natural world.
