About the event
Have you thought about exploring Attenborough Nature Reserve but don’t feel confident doing so on your own? Are you keen to meet new people but don’t know where to start? Would you like to be more active but don’t feel motivated by going to the gym or riding a bike? Are you drawn to nature but anxious about not knowing the difference between a coot and a cormorant?
The Engagement Team at Attenborough Nature Reserve know how much of a struggle it can be to get outside when you’re not feeling great. We know how intimidating it is to be surrounded by experts and feel a bit lost. We’ve also experienced the positive benefits of spending less time indoors and more time with nature.
You are welcome to join us for a guided walk with time for reflection whilst enjoying the calm surroundings of Attenborough Nature Reserve.
Binoculars will be available to borrow for when we visit the bird hides or you can bring your own.
You can do as much or as little as you like, you can be silent or interact with others. There will be no pressure to do anything you don’t feel comfortable doing. You can just be, while being around people who ‘get it’. We will return to the centre afterwards for a hot drink and a chat.
