People's Postcode Lottery
Inspiring future wildlife enthusiasts

Thanks to support from players of People's Postcode Lottery, over the past few years we have delivered a county-wide programme of Forest Schools inspired Woodland Workshops and developed a range of family friendly events as well as providing a youth engagement programme.
These workshops and events focused on teaching a range of craft, conservation and survival skills in safe, inspirational outdoor spaces.
We ran specially tailored programmes of workshops for schools and community groups and offered family-friendly sessions at weekends and in school holidays at our two flagship nature reserves, Attenborough and Idle Valley.

Family friendly
Over 600 people joined our family-friendly open day at our Skylarks Nature Reserve in 2018. Children of all ages and their families enjoyed pond-dipping, toasting marshmallows, traditional wood turning, making brooms and other bushcraft activities, supported by People's Postcode Lottery.
In 2019 we held our Wilder Woodland Gathering at Skylarks Nature Reserve were similar numbers of members, supporters and families enjoyed live debates, music, poetry and woodland activities and crafts, reaching out to a wider diverse audience.
Youth groups
We now cater for 13-25 year olds, through our Green Rangers and Keeping it Wild teams. Thanks to People's Postcode Lottery, we offer exciting weekly and monthly sessions that encourage young people to develop their understanding and passion for wildlife with their peers.
