About the Artist: Rachel Appleby

Rachel Appleby is an Artist and Printmaker living and working in Nottingham, but originally from North Norfolk. Her work is often inspired by her home county and its coastal locations which are an endless source of inspiration. Rachel has a BA Hons degree in Textile Design from Nottingham Trent University, where her love of colour, pattern and printmaking really took off.

This body of work is a collection of expressive landscape paintings and stylised lino prints inspired by the word ‘Sanctuary’ - a safe haven or place of safety. The artworks feature wildlife such as seabirds on the shore, migrating birds heading off on their long journeys and the ever changing British landscape as we move into Autumn.
