Rhoda

I’m Rhoda and I’m a volunteer Youth Leader at Keeping it Wild. I joined Keeping it Wild in September 2024 because I wanted to get involved with conservation volunteering and meet like-minded people who are passionate about the natural world. I love being a part of the group because of the huge range of activities that we get to do, including maintaining our own nature reserve (Woodthorpe Meadow), going to places such as Sherwood Forest to observe and learn about the huge variety of local wildlife, and engaging with the public at events such as Green Hustle.

I am currently studying towards a PhD in Sustainable Chemistry, and in my spare time I enjoy hiking, cycling, running, and basically anything that allows me to spend time outdoors!

Ezme

Hi, I'm Ezme, an assistant leader for Keeping it Wild (KIW). I've been part of the group for over two years and so far, have loved every second. It has helped me grow into a more confident and well-rounded person, and I walk away from every session inspired. KIW buoys me up (and gets me out of my head about climate worries) and has helped me to find purpose after graduating University. I also work for the Environment Agency, on the Environment and Science Graduate Training Scheme, and my experience with KIW played a large part in securing my role.

Erin

Hi, my name is Erin and I am a youth leader for Keeping it Wild. In 2022, after completing my degree I joined the group as a volunteer to meet likeminded people and gain more practical conservation skills.

I am passionate about connecting people with nature, particularly the younger generation and Keeping it Wild is a great avenue for that. I now work as a Community Conservation Officer and the skills I have developed during my time as a volunteer and leader have helped me achieve this.
