The collaboration highlights how sustainable, carbon reducing and accessible travel can help people discover Nottinghamshire’s rich natural heritage. trentbarton’s bus network provides routes to many local green spaces, including access to Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust’s popular Attenborough Nature Reserve and Nature Centre via the indigo route.

trentbarton also regularly promote Trust activities and events as well as seasonal reserve highlights, making it easier for local people to experience and enjoy nature.

The project is just one part of trentbartons support as a Gold Investor in Nature corporate partner, building on a successful first year of collaboration to help protect and restore nature across the county for communities to explore and enjoy.

Support from organisations such as trentbarton plays a vital role in funding the Trust’s mission to create a wilder Nottinghamshire. Through the renewed partnership, trentbarton will continue to support the Trust’s vision of a county where people and wildlife thrive together.

Not only will the explore guide benefit the local community, but the partnership will also see trentbarton colleagues take part in a range of employee engagement and volunteering opportunities, including campaigns such as 30 Days Wild. Staff will be encouraged to connect with nature through Wild Work Days, wellbeing walks and other opportunities designed to inspire positive action for wildlife.

By continuing to work together, Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust and trentbarton aim to provide access to nature, support healthier communities and contribute to a wilder future for Nottinghamshire.

Our team also enjoy getting out into nature, whether it is joining in personally with their friends and family during 30 Days Wild in June or onto the reserves through the Wild Work Days building teams bonds and getting out into the fresh air. It feels we are all making a real impact in our own community.

Support from local organisations like trentbarton enables us to keep our reserves healthy for wildlife to thrive and for people to enjoy as accessibly as possible.

It is fantastic to be collaborating with trentbarton to raise awareness of sustainable ways to visit local green spaces like Attenborough Nature Reserve and attend the many nature themed events held by the trust across our reserves. We hope this inspires communities to explore nature on their own doorstep and see how they can take action for wildlife and the natural world themselves.”

This continued partnership demonstrates how businesses and the Trust can work together to create positive outcomes for both people and nature across Nottinghamshire.
