Still time to view exhibition by young artist who’s been visiting much- loved Attenborough Nature Reserve all his life.

Visitors to Attenborough Nature Reserve have until the end of the month to view a range of fabulous work by local artist Jake Sexton who has been a regular visitor to the reserve all his life.

Jake Sexton's drawing of a moth

Jake, thirteen, from Attenborough, draws inspiration from the natural world around him having been a regular visitor with his parents – Tim and Alena Sexton - who both have close ties to the reserve.

Using watercolours, Jake creates lifelike paintings of a wide range of subjects, including birds of prey, moths and fungi. His detailed work reflects a deep appreciation of nature and a keen eye for capturing its beauty on paper.

Speaking about the exhibition, Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust’s Head of Communications, Erin McDaid said:

“Jake is an amazing artist and his talent belies his years. Jake’s mum Alena works in the popular café at Attenborough Nature Centre and his dad Tim is a well known local naturalist who worked at the centre for many years and now works for the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust. Jake’s talent speaks for itself – but the links with the family and the reserve and centre make the exhibition extra special and we hope many more people will come along to view it before the end of the month.
