About the event

This event has replaced a previous talk, The Story of an Ancient Woodland with Michael Walker, which will be rescheduled to a future date.

Sara Goodacre is a research scientist in the SpiderLab at the University of Nottingham, where she works with others to try to understand more about what spiders do when we aren't looking and why it matters that they keep doing it. From being inspired by spider silk as a material that is useful in fields of medicine and engineering, to understanding how something as small as a spiderling can fly across the globe, there is a lot we can learn from the 8-legged creatures on our doorstep.
