About the artist

Hi, I’m Gemma, a Pastel Artist, Mum and Pet/wildlife lover.

In July 2020 I picked up a pencil again after many years after leaving art college. People said how good I was and after hours of practicing people out of the blue began asking for commissions on social media .

From a hobby to business in 6 months was a shock to me. I had always drawn cartoons in the past but found a new passion for graphite and coloured pencil animal portraits. After 3 years I found pastel pencils and feel in love using them so decided to specialise in using them. Here I am today living my dream as an artist. Based in Nottingham, UK. I work in my cosy home studio. Feel free to get in touch if you have an idea for your own pet portrait or have a photo of another subject e.g. Wildlife, landscape etc in which you would like me to transform into a unique Pastel artwork.
