Capital One teams up with Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust to champion the local environment

Capital One – which has had its UK base in Nottingham for over 20 years – has become the latest company to sign up as a Wildlife Guardian to support the work of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, the county’s largest locally based environmental charity.

The new partnership follows on from the charity’s attendance at the company’s Earth Day event in April when the Wildlife Trust spoke to staff about its work across the county and promoted the UK-wide wildlife challenge, 30 Days Wild.

Speaking about the link-up Dave Richards, Head of Corporate Responsibility at Capital One UK, said:

“We were delighted that Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust were able to support our Earth Day events. 30 Days Wild is an important initiative that makes people feel happier and healthier and encourages people to do more to help wildlife. Here at Capital One we believe that caring for the environment creates benefits for everyone and is simply the right thing to do. We're actively limiting our impact on the environment by being responsible with resources and helping employees, suppliers and customers make greener choices.”

Speaking on behalf of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust Head of Communications Erin McDaid said: “The support of high profile companies like Capital One is really important. It sends a message that protecting wildlife and the environnment is crucial and we’re also keen to work with companies that are great employers. As a charity we rely on volunteers to carry out much of our work. We’re keen to promote our work within our business partnerships and to encourage employees to visit our wonderful nature reserves and take part in intiatives such as 30 Day Wild.”
