Key events on the Wilder Stage will include a performance by nature beatboxer Jason Singh, a debate about whether we should re-wild Nottingham and a presentation of the Nottingham for Nature Manifesto by young volunteers from the Wildlife Trust’s Keeping it Wild Group.

Elsewhere across the site in the Wise Owl Zone there will be creative writing workshops and a woodland library. In the Science Zone there will be moth themed graffiti art and bird ringing demonstrations plus Wilder Meditation sessions. In the Fox Den and Siver Birch Zones there will be activities including slacklining, wildlife ID, a Circus hub and wood carving demos and food and drink will include a special vegan ‘Wilder’ ale from Castle Rock Brewery, wood fired pizza, sustainability sourced coffee and locally sourced cakes and savoury main dishes.

Speaking about the event, Head of Communications Erin McDaid said: “With just a week to go we are really excited about the event. The programme looks amazing and we’re delighted with the range of performers, campaigners, ecologists and local businesses that are supporting the event by taking part.”

The event is inspired by The Wildlife Trusts’ UK-wide Wilder Future campaign which seeks to connect, inspire and invigorate positive action for the natural world.

The Wilder Woodland Gathering will bring together people from different sectors and backgrounds but everyone involved shares our view that more needs to be done urgently to protect wildlife and the environment. We hope hundreds of people will join us as we build a movement determined to make a difference for wildlife.
