Starting on Wednesday 27th February at Vicar Water Country Park, the programme is designed to showcase the wildlife of the Sherwood Forest and to highlight efforts to conserve and restore its precious landscape. Other walks announced will take place at the charity’s Rainworth Heath Nature Reserve and the areas around Budby Flash.

Speaking about the programme Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust’s Head of Communications Erin McDaid said:

"Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust has been championing the importance of Sherwood Forest and working to protect its special species for over 50 years. These are exciting times for the forest with many projects and programmes focused on helping to reconnect areas of habitat and ensuring nature’s recovery and these walks are designed to showcase some of the best spots for wildlife and to highlight the many ways local people can play a role in securing the forest’s future."
