About the reserve

The Hagg Lane (Idle Washlands) nature reserve is part of the River Idle Washlands SSSI. The site comprises good examples of wet grassland and attracts large numbers of wintering and passage waterfowl. Additional interest is provided by the breeding bird community which includes avocet, redshank and lapwing.
