10 years and counting! Capital One and Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust

Capital One UK is continuing its support for a ‘Wilder Nottinghamshire’ by renewing its long-standing partnership with Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust for a further year.

Capital One UK has been an important business supporter of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust for more than 10 years, with its corporate support and employee volunteering programme helping the Trust to advance its mission of protecting local wildlife and natural habitats across Nottinghamshire.

Headquartered in Nottingham city centre, the ongoing partnership demonstrates Capital One UK's commitment to community impact and investment by embedding responsible business practices into its corporate culture and inspiring its employees to become champions for nature's recovery.

Capital One UK has supported a range of important initiatives over the years that have directly contributed to the Trust's work in maintaining more than 40 nature reserves that provide essential green spaces for both wildlife and people. These include funding the Boardwalk Dipping Platform at Attenborough Nature Reserve and providing hundreds of volunteers for the Trust's 'Wild Work Days' to help complete important conservation tasks. These Wild Work Days give employees a chance to gain hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of biodiversity and conservation, while also serving as an enjoyable team-building activity that boosts well-being through spending time outdoors and connecting with nature.

Dave Richards, Head of Community Impact and Investment, at Capital One UK said, “We’re delighted to continue our support for Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust for another year. It’s been fantastic to see our employees getting involved and enjoying the partnership through initiatives like the Wild Work Days, hosting team meetings at Attenborough Nature Reserve’s wonderful conferencing facilities and through the many nature inspired activities across the Trust’s reserves, such as the lambing and calving events. We are proud to support the work Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust is doing to create a ‘Wilder Nottinghamshire’.

Emily Patrick, Partnerships and Trust Manager, at Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust commented, “Our partnership with Capital One UK has been a pleasure especially over the last year where we have enjoyed welcoming so many of their teams to our reserves. Support like this from businesses is a great way to enable our work across the county and engage their employees to get involved and benefit first hand from spending time in nature on the reserves we are protecting for wildlife and communities to thrive.”
