Lead by Example: Pop-Up Event at Attenborough Nature Reserve
Attenborough Nature Reserve,
Barton Lane, Attenborough, Nottinghamshire, NG9 6DYEvent details
About the event
Calling all dog lovers, nature fans, and four-legged role models!
Join us for a tail-wagging morning at Attenborough Nature Reserve as we launch our brand new Lead by Example campaign — a fun, positive way to celebrate responsible dog walking and recruit volunteers who want to help protect local wildlife (while enjoying walkies!).
This pop-up event is all about showcasing how simple changes—like keeping dogs on leads and picking up poo—can help ground-nesting birds and other wildlife thrive. It's also your chance to become one of our very first Ambassadog volunteers
What’s On:
Ambassadog Photo Booth
Strike a pose! Dress your pup in an Ambassadog bandana and take a snap with our “Lead by Example” sign. Say cheese for the chance to be our Dog of the Month on social media!
Free Puppachinos (for dogs on leads!)
Keeping your dog on a lead? That deserves a treat. Grab a free puppachino as a thank-you and hear how our volunteers share goodies like these while out on patrol.
Responsible Walking Challenge
Got kids? Grab a Dog Walk Hero checklist and see how many good deeds you and your dog can tick off.
Hear all about the Lead by Example Volunteer Role
If you have a dog and are keen to learn more about the Lead by Example role, come along top find out more. We’ll chat about the campaign, show what the volunteer role looks like in action, and answer any questions.
Wildlife Info Table

Share Your Voice
We’re also gathering content for our website and social media - so if you’d like to share why you walk responsibly with your dog, we’d love to hear from you! You could feature in our next video or post.
Whether you're a regular dog walker at Attenborough, curious about volunteering, or just popping by for your Sunday stroll—we’d love to see you and your pup. You'll find us on the main path just over the bridge by the car park between 9.30am and 12.30pm. No need to book—just turn up and bring your best behaviour (and your best friend!)
